Privacy and personal health information

Who is responsible
Sonder Counselling Psychotherapy is responsible for protecting personal health information in its custody or control. The practice privacy contact can be reached at zee@sonderpsychotherapy.ca or (226) 221-7205.
Website use
This website does not use a public intake form, advertising pixels, behavioural session replay, or marketing cookies. The hosting provider may process technical request information such as IP address, browser details, requested pages, timestamps, and security logs to deliver and protect the website.
Email and telephone
Email and ordinary voicemail may not be appropriate for sensitive health information. Use them to request a consultation or discuss scheduling. Do not send detailed clinical information, urgent concerns, or information you would not want transmitted through ordinary communication systems.
Collection, use, and disclosure
If you become a client, the practice collects only the information reasonably necessary to provide psychotherapy, administer the practice, meet professional obligations, and comply with Ontario law. Personal health information is used or disclosed only with consent or as permitted or required by law. A separate informed consent process explains confidentiality, its legal limits, electronic communication, records, and the specific service arrangement.
Safeguards and service providers
Reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards are used to protect information. Hosting, booking, communication, virtual care, and record systems may process information only for authorized purposes. Detailed clinical history should be provided through the practice's approved intake process, not through ordinary email.
Access and correction
Clients may ask to access or correct their personal health information, subject to the limits and procedures in Ontario law. Send a written request to the practice privacy contact. Identity may need to be verified before a record is released or changed.
Privacy questions and complaints
Questions, access requests, correction requests, and privacy complaints can be sent to zee@sonderpsychotherapy.ca. The practice will review the concern and explain the available next steps.
You may also contact the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario about a personal health information concern.

Links to maps, crisis resources, regulators, or other websites are governed by those services' own privacy practices. Opening an external link may share your IP address and browser information with that provider.
